This doesn’t happen often when I am overwhelmed with work (which is why I am drinking coffee on a Friday night) so I decided to go with it and began typing with no agenda. At the beginning of November, I had a serious moment of panic. I somehow managed to accumulate 6-8 design projects – ranging from a small apartment redesign to a large start up office.  In addition to design work, I still had to manage the blog and a few events to help plan AND attend…oh and possibly hang out with my family. I was/am inundated with work.  I have literally been waking up, making coffee and going straight to my computer and working throughout the day…then going to bed super late. 7 days a week. Jessica Klein's Home / Oh, I Design Blog / Elizabeth Willis Photography in Boston

All of that being said, as a freelance designer, that is exactly what you want to be…busy…right? Absolutely. And as a person that works better when her schedule is full (anyone else like that?), it has been such a great change of pace versus the slower summer months. Plus, I was able to sneak in a trip to Vermont with Cody and friends and truly enjoy it without feeling too overwhelmed. (by the way…this is the “always see the bright side of every situation” in me).

Anyone else in the same boat with a ton of work right now?!

Jessica Klein's Home / Oh, I Design Blog / Elizabeth Willis Photography in BostonAnyway!! 😉 December is here and I am so excited to begin working at the new studio. And with the new studio and new month…I wanted to set some goals before the new year arrives. I hope you will join in and share some of your goals as well – then we can be a support for each other! Because let’s face it… we always need someone to keep us in check!

December Goals:

Buy a Christmas tree + decorate it

Make a holiday cocktail and share it with friends

Update my Contract with the notes I have saved from completed projects

Order holiday cards !!!

Bake apple cinnamon scones (I bought the mix at a shop in vermont)

Clean up my email inbox (all organized and go through folders and delete old emails)

Clean up desktop and folders

And clean out my computer to make it faster

Get the studio all set up

Send gifts out before the 15th!

Actually take advantage of the gym at our apt.

Create more systems for my design process.

Schedule more blog posts in advance.
